
I’m a brand strategist and writer with more than 20 years experience building brands, creating brand voice, naming products and companies and developing effective marketing communications.
Through FloreakBrands, I offer branding, writing and naming services directly to clients and in partnership with other agencies. Calling on my extensive network of designers, researchers, strategists and technologists, I’m able to assemble teams to handle many kinds of branding projects.
Previously, I was a Principal Brand Strategist and Director of Verbal Branding and Content at Catapult Thinking, a brand strategy firm based in Boston. I started my career as a founding member of the Information Design Group at Fitch, was a Senior Writer with Agency PJA and was a Partner and Strategy Lead in the interactive design firm i-Collaborative. I’ve worked as a consultant to many design and branding firms including Continuum, IDEO, Tank Design, Essential Design, Lister Butler, Joss Design Group and Ziba.
My specialty is tackling complex communications problems and finding the simplicity that exists somewhere inside. That can take many forms: creating a new name, tagline, positioning or messaging platform, or writing clear and compelling copy. I’ve had a long interest in ethnographic research, which is an important part of all my work.
I’m also a food and travel writer, and recently completed a Master’s Degree in Gastronomy at Boston University.
